Hi, I’m Avani, an LMSW and associate psychotherapist. I specialize in working with people navigating eating disorders and OCD, as well as those dealing with family of origin/complex trauma, anxiety, depression, codependency, and life transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I use modalities like CBT, DBT, ACT, ERP, emotion-focused and somatic therapies to help you make sense of what you’re experiencing, challenge the thoughts and behaviors that keep you stuck, and discover new ways of relating to yourself that feel freeing and sustainable. At the heart of my work is the belief that therapy is more about connection, curiosity, and creating space to be fully human, rather than solely “fixing problems.” I believe healing happens in spaces that are compassionate, curious, and non-judgmental, and that’s what I strive to offer every client. I’m deeply passionate about this work because I know how hard it can be to untangle yourself from patterns that feel bigger than you. Outside of therapy, I’m someone who values honesty, humor, and the little things in life that keep us grounded. I hold a Master of Social Work from Baylor University and a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, with specialized training in OCD, eating disorders, and trauma. I currently offer virtual therapy for adults across Texas. If you’re ready to begin therapy or just curious about how I work, I invite you to schedule a free 15-minute consultation. I’d love to hear your story and potentially walk alongside you in your journey.

I understand the unique challenges that come with serving others. I work with first responders, medical professionals, and their families, as well as anyone navigating the impact of trauma exposure, compassion fatigue, or high-performance stress. I grew up and lived in Colorado most of my life, and in 2022 we decided to make a huge change and moved to Texas, and it has been a very positive move! I have a BS in Fire Science administration and I am attending University of Texas, Arlington to obtain my MSW, on this journey of earning my LCSW. Drawing on my experience in peer support, critical incident stress management, and health-focused practices, I help clients uncover the root causes of their struggles and symptoms. Together, we’ll explore these challenges in a safe, open, and supportive space, using conversation, education, and practical tools to create meaningful change. I believe mental and physical health are deeply connected, and my approach focuses on treating the whole person. I will use my past training, specialized approach, and cultural competence to help clients recognize the body’s stress responses—such as disrupted sleep, high cortisol levels, or risk-taking behaviors—and learn healthier ways to restore balance. If you’re ready to find stability, growth, and renewed strength, I would be honored to walk this path with you. Let’s take the next step together.
